Ghee Rice Recipe 🍚🧈✨
📝 Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups water
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 2-3 cloves
- 2-3 cardamom pods
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp salt (adjust as needed)
- 8-10 cashews (optional)
- 1 tbsp raisins (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander (for garnish)
Instructions
1️⃣ Rinse & Soak Rice
- Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20-30 minutes. Drain before cooking.
2️⃣ Fry Cashews & Raisins (Optional)
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee 🧈 in a pan.
- Fry cashews and raisins until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Sauté Spices & Onions
- In the same pan, add 1 tbsp ghee 🧈 and sauté cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and bay leaf until fragrant.
- Add sliced onions 🧅 and cook until golden brown.
4️⃣ Cook the Rice
- Add the drained rice and stir gently for a minute to coat it with ghee.
- Pour 2 cups of water 💧 and add salt 🧂.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes or until the rice is soft and fluffy.
5️⃣ Final Touch
- Fluff the rice with a fork 🍴.
- Garnish with fried cashews, raisins, and fresh coriander 🌿.
