Ghee Rice Recipe 🍚🧈✨

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2-3 cardamom pods
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust as needed)
  • 8-10 cashews (optional)
  • 1 tbsp raisins (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander (for garnish)

Instructions

1️⃣ Rinse & Soak Rice

  • Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20-30 minutes. Drain before cooking.

2️⃣ Fry Cashews & Raisins (Optional)

  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee 🧈 in a pan.
  • Fry cashews and raisins until golden brown. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Sauté Spices & Onions

  • In the same pan, add 1 tbsp ghee 🧈 and sauté cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and bay leaf until fragrant.
  • Add sliced onions 🧅 and cook until golden brown.

4️⃣ Cook the Rice

  • Add the drained rice and stir gently for a minute to coat it with ghee.
  • Pour 2 cups of water 💧 and add salt 🧂.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes or until the rice is soft and fluffy.

5️⃣ Final Touch

  • Fluff the rice with a fork 🍴.
  • Garnish with fried cashews, raisins, and fresh coriander 🌿.
