Mango Rice Bath Recipe 🥭🍚
Ingredients
For Cooking Rice:
- 1 cup IndRizo's Premium Raw Rice
- 2 cups water
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp oil
For Mango Mixture:
- 1 cup grated raw mango
- 1-2 green chilies (slit or chopped)
- 1-inch ginger (grated)
- 2 tbsp grated coconut (optional)
- 1 tsp jaggery (optional, to balance flavors)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
For Tempering (Tadka):
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp urad dal (split black gram)
- 1 tsp chana dal (Bengal gram)
- 2 dried red chilies
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- ¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts or cashews
For Garnish:
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Rice
- Rinse 1 cup rice and cook with 2 cups water, salt, and 1 tsp oil until soft but non-sticky.
- Spread it on a plate to cool down.
Step 2: Prepare the Tempering
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add urad dal, chana dal, red chilies, and curry leaves. Fry until golden brown.
- Add asafoetida and peanuts/cashews and sauté for a minute.
Step 3: Add Mango & Spices
- Add grated raw mango, green chilies, and grated ginger. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, salt, and jaggery (if using). Mix well.
- Cook for another 2 minutes until the mango softens.
Step 4: Mix with Rice
- Add the cooked rice and mix gently so the flavors coat evenly.
- Sprinkle grated coconut (optional) and mix well.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve warm.
- Enjoy with curd, papad, or pickle for a complete meal!
