Mango Rice Bath Recipe 🥭🍚

Ingredients

For Cooking Rice:

  • 1 cup IndRizo's Premium Raw Rice
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oil

For Mango Mixture:

  • 1 cup grated raw mango
  • 1-2 green chilies (slit or chopped)
  • 1-inch ginger (grated)
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut (optional)
  • 1 tsp jaggery (optional, to balance flavors)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering (Tadka):

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal (split black gram)
  • 1 tsp chana dal (Bengal gram)
  • 2 dried red chilies
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • ¼ tsp asafoetida (hing)
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts or cashews

For Garnish:

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Rice

  1. Rinse 1 cup rice and cook with 2 cups water, salt, and 1 tsp oil until soft but non-sticky.
  2. Spread it on a plate to cool down.

Step 2: Prepare the Tempering

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
  2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add urad dal, chana dal, red chilies, and curry leaves. Fry until golden brown.
  4. Add asafoetida and peanuts/cashews and sauté for a minute.

Step 3: Add Mango & Spices

  1. Add grated raw mango, green chilies, and grated ginger. Sauté for 2 minutes.
  2. Add turmeric powder, salt, and jaggery (if using). Mix well.
  3. Cook for another 2 minutes until the mango softens.

Step 4: Mix with Rice

  1. Add the cooked rice and mix gently so the flavors coat evenly.
  2. Sprinkle grated coconut (optional) and mix well.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve warm.
  • Enjoy with curd, papad, or pickle for a complete meal!
