Pudina Rice Recipe (Mint Rice) 🍚✨

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup IndRizo's Premium Raw Rice
  • 2 tbsp ghee/oil
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 small tomato, chopped
  • 1 green chili, slit
  • ½ cup mint leaves (pudina)
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2-3 cardamom pods
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust as needed)
  • 2 cups water
  • 8-10 cashews (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Pudina Paste

  • Blend mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, and green chili with a little water to make a smooth paste. Set aside.

2️⃣ Sauté Spices & Onions

  • Heat ghee/oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and bay leaf. Sauté until fragrant.
  • Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.

3️⃣ Cook the Masala

  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  • Stir in turmeric powder, salt, and garam masala.
  • Add the mint-coriander paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.

4️⃣ Cook the Rice

  • Add the washed and drained basmati rice and mix gently.
  • Pour 2 cups of water, cover, and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes until rice is soft and fluffy.

5️⃣ Final Touch

  • Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with roasted cashews (optional).
