Veg Pulao Recipe – Fragrant & Flavorful 🍚🌿
Ingredients:
- 1 cup IndRizo's Premium Raw Rice
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- 1 bay leaf
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 2 cloves
- 2 cardamom pods
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 green chili (slit)
- 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, beans, peas, potato)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp fried cashews (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and Soak Rice – Wash basmati rice under running water until clear. Soak for 30 minutes, then drain.
- Sauté Whole Spices – Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and cumin. Let them crackle.
- Cook Aromatics – Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add Vegetables – Stir in chopped vegetables, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Cook the Rice – Add drained rice, mix gently, and sauté for a minute. Pour 2 cups of water. Cover and cook on low heat for 12-15 minutes.
- Fluff and Serve – Once done, fluff the pulao with a fork. Garnish with coriander leaves and fried cashews.
- Enjoy – Serve hot with raita, pickle, or a side of yogurt!
